I'm going to build my own pc and I'll be buying the specs soon. I was wondering whether Intel motherboards are good or not?

The motherboard is an "Intel Desktop Board DX38BT" ( http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/DX38BT/DX38BT-overview.htm ).My CPU will be a Q6600 2.4ghz and I'll get a 2GB ddr3 1333mhz ram. Will it be a good computer in general for gaming? The graphic card is a sapphire HD4850 512mb and the OS will be Vista home premium 32bit.

I will be a computer science student next year and will use it for my everyday work too, such as learning how to program and use different softwares.

Thank you.

1. - What is your budget???
2. - Get 4GB of DDR2 Ram, DDR3 is to expensive
3. - Intel are OK motherboards, but a lot of people don't get them, people mainly go fro Asus or Gigabyte.

Hope this Helps.

1: I don't have a specific budget... (But i can't pay more than 650 dollars for the motherboard+cpu+ram)

2: But isn't ddr3 better than ddr2 if price is not that much of an issue?

3: Ok, any particular reason for people not getting intel motherboards?

* Thanks *

1. OK, i'll try and do abuild later for that
2. No difference really
3. Not sure.

from what ive understood so far is that

1, the difference in performance between DDR2 and DDR3 is not worth the price diff.

2 Ive heard alot of good things about ASUS motherboards. that took me forever to research and figure out what i wanted

and it sounds like 650 is your budget, lol
