Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz?

I found this processor in an old dell, wondering if it was worth keeping.
Anyone know?

EDIT: Also, is this thing any good to OC?

well by todays standards... id say no.

but my mum would be happy with that upgrade from a 733mhz one :)
 
Lol I figured it would be be worthless.
But you never know when a friend's going to need it =P
 
yeah you may as well keep it... like it would be silly to throw it out.. and you wont be able to sell it i dont reckon. :)
 
It's not worthless, it can be used for very low end machines which aren't used for much besides the internet and office tasks, but it's not something thats worth it to sell or play games with.
 
I'm not buying it, I got it for free when my aunt gave me an old dell.
I plan on making a new computer around it though, just to play a few games on until I can get my high end gaming computer.
 
I had a p4, 2.4ghz with Hyper threading in my last computer. I was able to play ut 2004 with decent settings. It was ok for me, and I think it'll be ok for you until you can get something better (when is free bad?). But I wouldn't buy other components to build around that one for now and then buy a whole new system in the near future. If that's your plan, I would not use the p4.
