Which one would be a better choice processor

Intel Pentium D 940 duel core (3.2GHz)
or
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (2.4GHz)

According to this review, which have both Pentium D 940 and X2 4800+ benchmarked, the 4800+ performs better in gaming, but Pentium D 940 performs most of the time in non-gaming applications (like video and audio encoding)

So, it depends on what you will use your computer

Also, remember that both of those CPUs are very old. Any modern CPU performs better than any of those

Thanks, I use y computer for gaming. By brother just bought a new computer and I was just comparing my cpu with his old one. I will stick with the AMD over the Intel

I would go with the AMD.
