i notice this is a skt 479 cpu that runs a bus of 533

there is an adapter available to make this match up to 2 asus motherboards one being the p4p800 se

which i happen to have

the adapter is 50$ and the chip is 300

would I have to change anything else?

and will this significatly outperform my 3.0 prscott?

can i still run 2 sticks of ddr400 512mb corsair value?

Well, I believe that it would run fine. You MIGHT need a BIOS update though, if you are unlucky.

And yes, when you overclock that Pentium M, it will outperform your 3.0E. Signifigantly, espically in gaming.

Oh yeah, and you still will be able to use your current RAM. It will just be clocked down, since the FSB is lower.

yes you do need a bios update

but i would do it before i put the new cpu in

so heres the question then

do i
spend 350 and move over to that pentium m

or spend 300 and get 2x1gb ddr500 ram and OC my 3.0 to 3.6 @ 240bus

which one is better?

I can get my cpu up to 3.6 but my ram downlocks to 166
