Im looking into buying a new laptop (still don't know whats wrong with my old one yet) but Im having some questions about processors. I guess in 3yrs they have come a long way.
One laptop I like is the Dell Inspiron 14 and at best buy it comes with an Intel Pentium T4400 (its a Pentium Dual Core and not a Core 2 Duo - my gateway thats dead has that) Is the Pentium Dual Core like the second cousin of the Core 2 Duo? I'm just not sure what would be the right processor for my needs. On Dells site you can upgrade to a Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache),Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 (2.13GHz/1066Mhz FSB/3MB cache), or Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (2.53GHz/1066Mhz FSB/3MB cache) but it costs you more.
The other laptop I was looking at was HP Pavillion DV4-2155dx and it has Intel Core I3.
Intended use - playing videos/movies, surfing web, facebook, burning dvds, download etc. I want to have a certain level of multi tasking capabilities and would like to know what processors I should be looking for. Thanks.
