Intel Stock HSF - Do they sucK?

Just a random topic...

Is it just me or is the stock intel HSF that comes with CPU's really dodgy? I dunno why but everytime I build a computer, I only manage to COMPLETELY get 3 of the 4 pushpins into the mobo (still is quite secure).

Also, I dont like the way you actually fit the HSF onto the MOBO. Sometimes, while putting the pushpins in, I can see the mobo flexing a little - I dont like it. I prefer good old fashioned screws, if you dont mind.

I once had a nightmare - I was playing Oblivion when the pushpins of the HSF pooed out and crashed into the GPU. I woke up sweating, and reaching for my screwdriver to check if my nightmare wasnt reality. I know. I am a freak.

Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I can't say it's my favorite design, they do seem to put a fair bit of force on the board. As for getting them in, you do need to push reasonably hard. It's much easier if you do it outside the case, before assembling the rest of the system.

ive never had any trouble attaching to the board, the mobo will flex a bit, but that wont do any damage.
