So I am looking to buy a motherboard. I looked on Newegg and I can see that you can choose from a variety of categories (Motherboard CPU/VGA combo, AMD Motherboards, and Intel Motherboards). I was just wondering what is the differences between them.

an intel based motherboard will support only intel processors, while an AMD motherboard will support only AMD processors.

i cant really tell from your question if you know too much about building computers? are you experienced? because just putting in a motherboard will not make a computer run.

combos come with the CPU or video card. there are only two types of cpu: AMD and intel. a motherboard will only support AMD or intel and they are not interchangable, so buy the motherboard that fits the CPU you already have

I was just wondering Pros and Cons between the two. I have never "built" my own computer, but I just take apart spare computers I have lying around and put them back together.I just need help differencing the two Motherboards and finding witch one will be a better choice for me. I want a computer that will be exceptionally well with performance and gaming, yes I know I will need a lot of memory and other stuff. I just need to know why picking one brand of Motherboard over the other is a good idea.

if you're just barely starting to learn about custom computers, there's much to learn about specs about each component and it's good to search this forum about each :] i'll start you off by suggesting to build an intel based computer because nowadays, there's no more competition between AMD and intel if you want exceptional performance
