Intel Xeon for video editing?

Is the intel Xeon a good choice for video editing or should I just use one of the desktop ones like core i7?

Just get an i7. Xeons are meant more for servers.

If you're looking for EXTREME extreme performance, then with a Xeon you can get a special mobo and run two separate CPUs for double the power. I'm guessing you don't want to spend thousands of $$$ though, so just go for an i7.
