Quite true but if you're doing serious animation stuff (emphasis on serious), the hardware infrastructure is a neccessity and as such, the cost isnt as big an issue anymore since you absolutely need the hardware

Well people without budgets for heavy-server RAM shouldnt be considering heavy-servers. Furthermore, its not PEOPLE buying heavy servers. It's DEPARTMENTS and COMPANIES
