Intel's In Mac's

I dont know if im just really slow or something but today i saw a comercial for intels in mac's. Now i havent been on this forum in a while but i figured id share it. The comercial said that today, 1/15/06, the intel brand of processers were to be released in mac's.

Yes. They were just recently released during the apply Keynote. I dont believe theres been any threads about them here yet(at least i havent seen any). Only the iMac G5 and MacBook (was previously powerbook) have intel chips. Apple claims they run alot faster
 
And Apple claimed the G5 was the fastest processor around... I remember those commericals, they can't be that old!

Personally, I think they are all mixed up. I feel they are a dying cause and knew people wanted both a brand name(everyone who knows nothings goes with intel :P) and MHz(Intel has the fastest in terms of MHz) Fast clock speeds and a name people know...possible new customers.
 
Whats an intel doing in mac? Alot more then its done in a PC.

yeah, it kinda sux for mac owners already. most of them dont like the switch considering that intel was mac's enemy. however, what also sucks is that the new intel switch will not allow support for softwares like classic macs and olders, instead, they will have to use an emulator calle rosetta. sux to have a mac. at the end of next year(2007), they are suppose to take off all powerpc powered mac off the assembly line. aw.

How about software combatibility? Does anyone know anything about it? How long until they make sofware only for intel?

BTW Im on a mac.

I guess there are some good programs but im thinking of games. it is always like 2 or 3 years after a game is released that its released for mac,

I have an iMac G4, exactly: no viruses, few games (my fav is Max Payne on mac) great apps
 
I love my mac mini, but it certinally wouldn't be my main system. WAY too few programs out for it, and it's slower than my old Athlon 1.4GHz was... Still though, a good, next to silent system. Don't know how these new ones will be, though...
