Hi,

It's been a while since I've posted here but I need some advice. I have comast internet service in California and it is supposed to run at 1.5Mb/s. However, all my downloads occur at around 200kb/s. I did a speed test and it said the download speed was 1.35Mb/s. i just reinstalled windows, so I cant have a virus. All the computers on the network are running slow. And, I have a linksys router and an Arris modem, in case that matters. Thanks for the help!

You are getting what you pay for. Your ISP is giving you a 1.5megabit connection which equals a 192kilobyte download speed.

MB = Megabyte

Mb = Megabit

It sucks but that's how it is :|

I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to get what they pay for. Can't complain when you don't get it, and then complain when you do.

i'm pretty sure linkin is referring to the misleading adverts that you see everywhere (same in the UK.)
Where it is not clearly defined as megabit and is implied as megabyte to the customer, most customers have seen Mb before and assume it to be megabyte.
