Internet Connection Faults after PSU & Graphics Card upgrade

I have a fully working system, nothing to complain about apart from the fact i cannot have more than one display with the current setup... unfortunately i have become accustom to using more than one display.

So i bought a PCI-Ex Graphics card
its a VTX3d - AMD Radeon HD6670
it requires a minimum 400watt power pupply...

being that my power supply is only 225watt MAX output i decided to hunt for a better PSU before even thinking about fitting and installing the card and drivers.

well... i bought a 2nd hand 600 watt PSU today.
After quickly checking a few things with the power distribution i unplugged everything... carefully fitted the new 600watt psu...

started up the machine... it runs fine... a little louder but not much... but expected as its almost x3 the power and operates with a bigger cooling fan...

so now that i knew the power supply was ok i turned it all off and unplugged the cables... fitted the new card... plugged cables in... turned on... all the fans are running... including the new graphics card...

installed drivers with the included disk in the new graphics card box...

successful installation.

and bingo... 2 monniters working...

problem...

it recognioses the wifi network i use regulary...
it displays 'Connected'
but when using a browser it displays 'couldnt reach server (or something similar)'

i am using a nano sized 802.11g/b/n enabled adaptor from edimax (USB)

when you disconnect and reconnect to the network it shows 'limited if not no connectivity' (or something similar)

and it cannot reach the gateway when searched in the browser...

ipconfig shows 'media disconnected'

and for some reason my virtual box software has its ethernet adaptor connection set on 'enabled' and it cannot be disabled...

so... i turned it off... removed cables... removed Graphics card...
and swapped PSU back over.. (without fitting it in the correct position.. its hanging off the side :)

turned back on... and well its working with no problem...

my guess is that the new 600watt psu is overloading the USB ports and making this (in my opinion) fragile USB wifi adaptor fail...

if someone could come in and save the day for me i would be appreciative.

here's the pc specs before any changes:

Uninstall the driver that came from the install cd and reboot to see if wireless and everything else works correctly again. If so then we know it was from the driver from cd.

Then go here to download the latest drivers for your video card.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_win8-32.aspx

Never use the cd for video cards to install drivers, they are usually very outdated.

i don't understand how a video card effects a wifi adaptor? but i will try with newer drivers thanks :)
