Internet connection HELP!!!!

this is how i'm trying to connect:

two way splitter from my cable to the modem...internet cord from my modem to my wireless router...ethernet cable from my wireless rounter hooked directly to my desktop...
 
You have to Extract the files from that archive before you can install them.

Right Click on that archive you downloaded, and "Extract Here".

ok...i'm using a stupid mac so I can't rigth click..wats the equilivent to a rigth click on a mac? so i can extract

Don't extract it. Just download the .ZIP file and put that on your USB stick.

Then, extract the file using your Windows computer.
 
funny thing...when i plug my internet cord into either my desktop or latop both running vista doesn't work...plug it into my g/fs apple laptop and it works right away??? is this a windows problem im guessing? sum setting i have on bloacking connection or sumething??? on vista
 
Yeah, don't call geek squad unless you want to get robbed. I'm sure you have a computer savvy friend that can help you out. It almost sounds like you don't have the right driver installed. What do you have listed in device manager under network adapters?

under network adapter: Netgear FA311v2 PCI Adapter
 
It's critical that you have every letter/version number/serial number that matches the card correctly.. Take out your card and double check yourself.. I had a network card that I couldn't fix for a long time but I took it out and found out that it was a version "b" and that's why it didn't work...
 
ya i kno i have an older driver from 2006 and need to update...i have the new driver i think on my usb stick...i just dun know how to install it...theres no program to run it...help please
 
If there is no .exe file to actually update the driver then you need to direct the update to the folder where the driver is located.
