It happens recently, from before the internet keeps connected.
so is that a spyware?

Last June I suddenly started losing my dialup connection about three times per hour. Then I read around October that if you enable both software and hardware compression it can cause slowdowns and disconnects. I disabled hardware compression and have had no problems since:)

From XP Help and Support:

"To designate hardware or software compression
You must be logged on as a computer administrator in order to complete this procedure.

Open Phone and Modem Options in Control Panel.
On the Modems tab, click the modem that you want to configure.
Click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Click Change Default Preferences.
In Data Connection Preferences, in the Compression list, click Disabled.

Notes

To open Phone and Modem Options, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Phone and Modem Options.
Some communications programs provide efficient software compression. If you are using a program that provides software compression, turning off the modem's hardware compression often provides the highest data throughput speed. "
