Hi again, Im formatting my hard drive today and I'm creating a backup file to save to my external hardrive. Is there any way I can save my internet connection so I don't have to phone up my ISP to get connected again?
Thanks guys,
Vic

if you're on broadband you shouldn't have to phone your ISP.
when using Windows XP with broadband you can just plug the internet cable into the pc and will be able to access it.
you shouldn't need to back anything up, apart from maybe your settings.

your settings are like your Favorites or Bookmarks etc...

which ISP are you with and do you have to use a username and password to access the net?

Im with mweb, It's a South African ISP, not that great actually. We're returning to the U.K soon. Yeah I have a username and password for the connection.

you will need to make sure you do back up the user name and password then. i don't see any reason why you should have to contact your ISP once you have reformatted, you should be able to just plug everything in, install all your software open whatever you enter your user name + password in and you're ready to go.
