Internet doesn't work

This forum has probably been created a hundred-million times before but anyway... I was on the internet on my computer the other day and half-way through writing an email, my internet stopped working. However the other computer and laptop had working internet even though all the computers are connected to the same modem.
So this, I concluded, proves that it's not the internet connection that is the problem but something in my computer which is stopping me from accessing the internet.
One other confusing thing is that I have two live applications on my desktop (news feed and weather report) which both still work and are updating when needed.
I've checked my firewall and all seems to be in order with no blocking of the internet and I've used google chrome and internet explorer but none work.

Can anyone help me or has anyone had a similar experience before?

I use Vista 64-bit if that's any help.

Thanks!

Joe

Other than that your log appears clean.

I did what you said but unfortunately my internet still isn't working :(

Is there anything else I could try?

Cheers,

Joe
