Internet error

i posted a thread about the same problem about a month ago. but it just went away by itself. today, i encounter it again. so heres the thing. after using the com for a period of time, my internet connection would get vry screwed. i use both IE and FF. whenever i try to load a webpage, IE would tell me either "the address is not valid" (the url that i typed becomes "http:////") or "the webpage cannot be displayed". in FF, the status bar would say "done" but nothing was loaded. in both browsers, i had to refresh the page numerous times for the webpage to be displayed. even when it did, not everything is loaded or loaded properly (missing images, screwed up alignment...etc). the rest of my internet connections like utorrent or msn seem to be fine. restarting my com would solve the problem but only for a while, the problem would come back again. i've scanned my com using SP: S&D and avira. im pretty sure hijackthis does not solve the problem as i tried it the last time.
 
Is it just on that computer?? or does it happen on other computers???

Does it happen on what ever site you try, or does it only happen a few / one site???
 
if i remember it correctly, my previous computer had the same problem. and it happens to all websites. im thinking it has got to do with my OS, win xp home, as i was runnin xp home on my previous computer.
