hey guys

just wondering if there is anyone in here using eplorer 7?

i was warned off a good friend of mine to stay away from explorer 7 as there was a few problems with it-

as usual i ignored him because i thought he would have ment when it was internet eplorer 7 "beta"

anyway i have been using it for not even a week and ive had to uninstall it due to the fact that the internet pages would stick and then i would have to go into task manager and close it down.

basicly i know its not my internet connection as im on 8meg and behind a well firewalled router.:D

anybody else had or having the same problems?????

or could anyone advise me on something a bit better than explorer????

Yes, ever since i've had IE7 i have noticed this too, although when they stick on mine i just get an error and i have the option to either debug the problem or just close the browser. The debug never works and just shuts down IE7 anyway, its ridiculous. I was thinking about using Firefox but haven't had the time yet!

I've used IE7 since the beta days and can quite honestly say that I've never had a problem:D

It seems to be affected by different setups/programs/drivers etc on different peoples computers, so what happens to you is a mystery to another person.

I've never had a problem when using IE 7 but I've noticed Firefox 2 loads a bit quicker and is a bit quicker overall than IE 7. So I would recommend using Firefox. ;)

What do you mean by that?

The top is Firefox the bottom is IE 7. Compare the fonts in IE and Firefox and see how the fonts in IE are smoother:

Yea, I see what you mean, but I actually like Firefox better. Although IE has a better effect for the quote box.

Yeah I also had this problem, but since I reformatted everythings now fine!

Font are different because your have cleartype enabled inside IE, go to the default startup page and theres an option to have it on/off

I havn't used it much, but i still havn't had many problems. For me though, it's Konqueror all the way! (or firefox on windows).

Bit random lol, but im happy with the look and feel of IE7 and have had no problems so i'll be sticking with that.

IE7 vs The World

I have to admit that I much prefer to use Firefox 2.0 over IE7 ANY day of the week! I did upgrade to IE7 after it's general release and I found it to crash whenever I tried to load anything that required a certain amount of memory/CPU/GPU activity...

Plus, when I "upgraded" to IE7, I found that I could no longer use my HPDirector software that came with my Printer/Scanner/Copier - ordinarily, this would not bother me, cos I can use most of it's features without the main menu screen, however, one of the rather more useful features is to be able to scan a text document and be able to edit with a PDF editor, or Microsoft Word.

I had to phone the HP desktop support team, at a cost of about £10 for them to tell me that IE6 was a system requirement, not a MINIMUM requirement. I lost my nut with them, then had to fight with Microsoft to try and uninstall the damn program! If anyone wants to know how to unstall and revert back to IE6, here's the link you need. Stick it in your 'Run' text entry field...

%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe (where windir is the default C:\WINDOWS drive)

Anyways, there's my 10 cents worth!

I have been running IE7 since the Beta days. Loaded the Gold code when it became available. I must say that I have had no problems. Love the tabbed browsing.

If you love tabbed browsing, then get FF2.0. My IE7 kept loading pages when i would put them in the address bar for FF, and it was just messed up. Therefore, i went back to IE6 (not an especially good idea either). I read an article on Slashdot, IE6 was vulnerable for 250+ days of 2006, while FF was vulnerable for 7.

ok im using all 3 browser and IE7 is really f*****g lame men !!!...seriously..cant browse at all...i use to have the same probs ie freezing then have to close it thru task manager ..re-installed..same old thing..my favorite is MF then opera...MS needs to do some serious work on there browser..
