Which shouldnt I use?

I have Internet Explorer which I have been warned not to use, so I dont. I heard you get lots of viruses. But it seems to be used automatically for my MSN hotmail. Is there anyay of switching it over to Mozilla Fox, that is a good one right?

I also use Slimbrowser, I heard that is connected to Internet Explorer, does that mean it is equally ridden with viruses?


How do I make hotmail use another safer web browser?
 
You can choose Firefox to be your primary web browser,so all webpages will open using Firefox.It's a very browser,give it a try :)
 
Yea, not sure if that'll work. FF is my default browser, but anything that has to do with microsoft opens in IE7. I've searched in the options of MSN Mess and i cant find anything to change the default.
 
I couldnt find how to change IE as the default browser in hotmail.

What about uninstalling internet explorer completely from add/remove in the control panel?

Also removing Slimbrowser?

I guess having hotmail/MSN open all the time is risky.

I have IE6 at the moment.
 
Just because you are using IE7 and not Firefox does not mean you will get viruses. If you go to a site in IE7 that has a virus and then go back on the same site in Firefox guess what? You will get the exact same result either your virus protection notices it or you get a virus because you have no protection. Browsers do not change the riskiness of the internet!
