Is there any way to not allow users to change the internet explorer home page? I can only do this without installing software. How? The computer had Windows 2000. Thanks.

I don't know of any particular way off hand in doing that. But you could easily add your home page to the favorites so if that gets changed you simply go there to reassign the page. If that has been changed when finding a new web site you may want to try Internet Explorer 7.0 with some features added to prevent phishing attacks done by some sites. The beta version has been on for a about a month now with no issues. Just get used to a few new things about it's appearance.

You can lock it with a registry setting

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]
"Homepage"=dword:00000001

go to

Start>Run

Type in "regedit"

You will have to navigate to that folder. Every / is a different folder.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you are doing, you can mess things up if you do the worng one.. so make sure of it!.. but if you must then go for it.
