The title was to get your attention because I need help :P

Right now I am in the process of upgrading the family PC.
It's current specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1GB 266MHz DDR
80GB SATA I Hard Drive

Running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32-Bit

My problem is that whenever I play music videos with Youtube the audio and video lags, so much that It makes me uninterested in listening to anything!

I have the problem in Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

I preffer either of them browsers as they are more responsive on my slow system.

The only browser that doesn't have the issue is Internet Explorer 9. But we all know on an old system it is going to be a laggy turd, which it is and more.

I'm not happy with using IE9 on this system since it takes around 2 seconds to change tab. But it's the only one which doesn't lag out audio and video.

Ideally I am looking for a responsive browser and good playback.

Any recommendations? Either another browser or a fix for problem?

Sorry for the double post.

Update:

Got sick of IE so been back using Firefox.

Now found out it's a processor issue. Whenever 100% utilization occurs then the lag happens.

I can eliminate it by giving flash player plugin a higher priority.

I will try this in opera in a bit as it seems it's a bit more responsive than firefox on this system.

It's a shame, I have only just got this processor. It was an upgrade from a AMD Sempron 2600+ and solely purchased to upgrade the machine from XP to Windows 7.

I really don't want to buy another cpu, I got this one for £4 on eBay! The next step up is an additional £20, for a 200MHz increase which is hardly going to fix my issue!

Hopefully the issue will lessen when my RAM upgrade arrives.

1GB 266MHz DDR to 2GB 400MHz DDR

Next question,

Is there any way to force Adobe Flash Plugin to always startup with a higher than normal cpu priority?

This thread can be deleted.

I've disabled AMD's Cool'n'Quiet which has stopped my multi from bouncing around, which has helped overall performance a bit.

I also downloaded all drivers from Biostars website and installed them in compatibility mode.

Windows Update didn't detect the drivers so none of the graphics drivers were installed
