Internet Explorer problem?

Hi guys/gals!

I am new to this forum but am having a problem with my IE and figured this might be a good way to figure out the problem!

The jist of it is my IE crashes everytime a second IE window is opened via link.

Have run Ad-aware and cleared out and then rebooted and ran again.
ALso have the new service pack but this occurred prior to the update.

Some of the symptoms:
If I have an IE window open and then say click a link that was send via email or AIM the page will load and then I get the IE box saying that IE must shut down.
THis happens everytime without exception.

Getting very frustrating!

yes

Ran my Norton which didnt show any viruses. Also have run Ad-aware and HijackThis.

I am hoping that I am not going to have to reformat to solve this problem :rolleyes:

Thinking about possibly uninstalling IE and re-installing but have never done that before. Will the XP CD automatically do this for me?

You could quickly try another antivirus software like AVG which is free, but as for uninstalling IE, what version have you got? you should be running 6 which can easily be picked up on most free CD's with magazines, in the UK at least anyway.
