Internet not working on new build

Welp, everything works. I got the PC on, windows 7 installed, everything.
Buut... the internet isn't working. I plug it in, an orange light emits from it, and nothing happens on screen. can't connect to the internet...
I mean, it works my other PC, my horrible one, but it won't work on my build...
On my other PC a green light emits, if that's anything... Also, when I start the computer, in the bottom right of the tray, for a couple of seconds there'll be a loading symbol next to the internet box connection thing, then it turns into a red X next to it. I'm amazed that I came this far just for the internet not to work -.-
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Edit: If it helps at all, im using this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157394

Hah, I got it, I put a thread up on Toms Hardware too.
They said to take the disc that came with the motherboard and install the drivers.
Thanks anyways, voyager. Also, my RAM wasn't put in all the way. d:
Oh, and thanks to everyone on computerforum that helped me with my computer build and answered my questions. It's done! :)

The drivers on the website would be better because they're newer than the ones on the disc :good:
