internet not working.

My internet was fine for 18mnths and not it lets me online for 2mins then kicks me off. Im using a cable modem.

My Ethernet keeps flashing shouldnt that be permanently on?

any help would be great my isp are not very helpful.

Your modem usually has one light that is consistently on showing that it's powered, one that shows that it has a physical connection to the internet, and one that should be blinking showing activity.

Do you have Windows Updates set to download and install automatically? If so, change that so that it asks you first, and then check and see if you have more than one network adapter installed. I had a similar problem happen with a friend who had their Updates set to download and about a week ago this started happening to him, and the Updates had installed a second network adapter. This would be causing this sort of problem. If this isn't right, we'll go from there...
