Internet not working????

Hi,

I just bought a laptop today and the internet is not working. After 100 attempts once in a while it will connect but it won't let me use my browser...Sometimes it will show limited/no connectivity. Even when it is connected it will show that it is sending but only receives like 3.. ie Sent 76 Received 3.? And once I turned my computer on and it said connected right away, but then stopped receiving again.. Now when I look into it a little further I found a note: IEEE 802.1 x authentication can not operate to peer to peer (ad hoc) networks or on networks for which data encryption is disabled.

If anyone can give me advice!?!? I am not good with computers obviously!

How are you connected to the internet? Modem to router to wireless? Sounds like you have a wrong setting in the router.

Hi,

Yeah you will need to install the modem, bps (bytes per second) refers to an internet connection (which you haven't yet established)

Get the disk for your modem and install. if you don't have a disk search the manufacturers name on Google and visit their site and should have a download section for the software.
