Internet Problems

I have my computer hooked up with an ethernet cable. I'll be connect, and then all of the sudden the dial up box pops open and it starts trying to connect me to dial up.

Does anyone know why my computer tries to connect me to dial when I'm already connected with cable internet?

If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

You need to go into your Internet Explorer settings. Tools then Internet Options. You can also find this utility in your Control Panel.

Now access the Connections tab. You have most likely got Always dial my default connection option enabled. Set this to never dial a connection or dial whenever a network connection is not present. Click Ok, close Internet Explorer.

Set this to never dial a connection or dial whenever a network connection is not present.

It should be set to NEVER dial a connection as the other option will sometimes cause the dialer to start. Or you could remove the dial up connection all together.

id just delete the dial up connection, as long as i didnt use it anymore, quick and simple to do

It was on dial whenever a network connection isn't present. I changed it to never dial.
