I just bought a new computer to put in my room, it kicks ass and I would love to play games online. What protection programs do you recommend? I don't want there to be any chance for viruses or spyware to get on my computer. Will not using internet explorer / outlook help? I don't need to. There's another pc in the living room.
I think there's a cd that comes with computers with windows on them that resets the driver, clears EVERYTHING except for the windows files. What cd is that?

 I HATE SPYWARE AND VIRUSES!!! WHY WOULD ANYONE MAKE THEM???
Here's the specs, not that it matters.
3.0GHz P4 processor
1GB ram
256mb ATI Radeon X850 :D
160GB 7200 rpm hard drive
DVD reader
CD/CDrw burner
Microsoft wireless Intelli Point 2.0 (i think)
Logitech Dual Action game pad
ATI tv tuner pro
A whole lot of games!

If you take the advice here you should be ok. As for that disc you mentioned, I'm not sure how you could play a game when you've only got windows files running

Is this it? I put in a cd wrapped with the windows xp book and click install xp. Then i click new installation and it says existing files may be erased. Is that it? I am pretty sure it is, but i want to be sure.

OPERATING SYSTEM
ALREADY INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER
Reinstallation CD
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Including Service Pack 2

Thanks for the help

I was just planning on installing it if my computer gets messed up, my computer is fine now. Is the avatar for your user id from conkers bad fur day?

Ok, glad to hear you got a clean machine. The avatar I'm not sure about, I wanted a Grim Reaper avatar and I found this one on a site with loads of cool ones, unfortunately I didn't keep the address.

I've been using Mozilla Firefox 1.x for a while. I love it. I won't switch back to IE now. I use Firefox + Zone Alarm. Good combo.
