Internet Explorer 7 Question:

I sometimes use IE 7 on my standby laptop when my desktop is down -- like now.

Since I often have more than one internet window (or tab) open, sometimes I want to close just one of these tabs. But then, I get the message, “Do you want to close all tabs,” and I either have to close everything or leave all the tabs open.

How can I close just individual tabs as needed?

Thanks.

Go up top where the tabs are and just close the one you want to close or you can disable tabbed browsing all together by going into internet options. On the general tab there should be a tabs section down toward the bottom, click on settings and uncheck enable tabbed browsing.

Look for the X on the tab, not the main large red X

I think the problem from the way you described it is that you are looking at closing all of IE via the main red X, not the individual X for each Tab.

So, ignore the "main" X for the app itself, but, focus on the X for the individual tab that you are looking to close.
