I was thinking about this last night, so maybe someone can give me some insite. First off, I'm NOT asking about running SLI using two different cards, OK!?
Now then, using an SLI motherboard, or even a motherboard with two PCIe slots(like those that can be modified for SLI) Could you basically run two different video cards? Perhaps, you have one for graphics, and one for gamming? Both on PCI express. Let me state again, I don't mean sharing the load or anything like SLI or Crossfire. Simply like having an AGP and PCI card in an older motherboard...

I figured it was possible, just never tried or felt like paying for the parts to test it out
