Introduction / Crazy problem-raid 0 -lockup

Hello...

First an introduction. My name is Andrew and I'm pretty computer savvy. I regularly build rigs or repair other peoples broke computers but something crazy happened recently to my baby :( I'm still not sure whats going on exactly so I thought I would see what others have to say about it.

My computer is about 2 years old and consists of an X6800 ES overclocked about 20% and running at a chilly -54C (I don't think I'm overheating :) ) The Mobo is a P5N32-SLI SE DELUXE with 2 gigs of corsair. My primary boot drive(s) are two 75 gig raptors in raid 0. In the graphics department I was really lagging...I had an XFX 7950-GX2 which just got replaced with an XFX 285 (the beginning of the problem).

SooOOOoooOO...here we go. Computer never had any problems before I upgraded the graphic card a few days ago. Initially everything was great until I was playing FAR CRY 2 for a few hours and my computer locked up. No big deal...restarted it to see what was going on but I was shocked to see CMOS failure just after post. Continued to try and get into windows normally but was greeted with a "no boot drive detected" (something to that effect) and now I was pissed. I booted up on another copy of windows I keep on an 80 gig IDE just for such occasions and tried to recover some data on my raid. I got the "corrupt or missing data" and called it a loss.

Then I think I was acting more out of anger than reason. I didn't notice that my raid had been split and there was an extra hard drive in "my computer" when I formatted one of them. I rebooted, went back into the bios and that's when I saw that the initial crash had reset my BIOS back to default settings which included turning off the Nvidia Raid option. I turned it back on, went into the raid screen during post and set it back up as a stripe and cleared all data.

The problem now was when I tried to re-install windows the raid was not on the list of options for the new install. When I split the raid I can see each hard drive on the list of possiblities but when I delete the partition, make a new partition and try to install windows on either one of them individually windows says "no partition availible...go back and create a partition"

Basically now I have windows running on the 80 gig IDE with 2 dead raptors sitting there and my PC still locks up and resets the CMOS everytime I try to play FAR CRY 2. Ive thought of the following possibilities and want to see what other idea's you guys might have. I'm wondering if my PC is teetering on the power line because of the new graphics card. I only have a 700 watt power supply working 3 dvd's, 4 hard drives, 6 fans and now this power hungry card. (I think it requires a minimum 550 watt power supply).
The other thing I noticed is the SMART data for one of the 2 raptors was was looking pretty bad in the read write area....it was way below the recommended minimum. Other than that Im at a loss...I guess as long as I dont run my pc through the strainer with games that max out my pc I will be fine. (yeah right....I guess I will keep rebooting until I find out the solution :D) Any ideas are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

**UPDATE**

Still not 100% sure whats going on...swapped old card back in and same problem...freezes when under load but its unpredictable. memtest shows ram good...prime 95 goes to town on processor and its never locked up with 36 mark...locks up with new or old card in Far Cry 2 even with graphics set to the lowest setting. Ive also now got it to lock up in windows (outside of games) by running Sandra lite analysis...with the exception of one time it will lock up while looking at all the hardware.

So now Ive come to the conclusion that its obviously not graphics card related. Not sure what to do next but I will keep plugging away.
