im looking into upgrading
i have a free forum for a site that im made but i want something that i actually have control over
and i was thinking of buying invisionboard
do any of you own this?
could you tell me a bit about the software?
would you recomend anything else?
any other details about the software
i cant look at their website right now because its down so...i thought id ask eher

what is wrong with invisionfree you have control over your own forum and it is free

I use Invisionfree and am quite happy with it. You have considerable control over the forum. Are you looking for something you host yourself, or for something like Invisionfree which hosts the forum for you?

SMF is the only free forum that i know of thats actually a package. You install it and you conrol everything, it is like vBulletin and Invision paid ones but its open source so its free, its used on my site in the sig if ya wanna test it out and see it in action.

Its really good, i would say it rivals the paid ones like vBulletin and im some areas it surpasses them.

can i upload a forum i all ready have. i mean like all the posts/threads/members. but i dont want the layout i have now. right now im using pphb or w/e its called but i was to use http://www.simplemachines.org/. can i upload all the information from the old board somehow?
