You both say it is garbage can someone please explain to me what it is intended to do for your computer, without knowing one will never know why it is garbage.
Basically it tells you there are issues with your system when there isn't. Any program from Iolo is garbage. Many malware programs detect it as malware and will delete it. I can't stand to work on machines that have it installed cause it keeps popping up. You are better off using the free program called Ccleaner. Works very well and you only need to use the cleaner part of it not the registry cleaner part of it.
That is very good to know, there is so much out there that companies make a killing on people that are not up on all of this stiff and make it sound like if you don't have it you are in big trouble.
Same as Mcafee, its a resource hog and for most people its not needed. Free version of Avast, free Malwarebytes works wonders when you know how to surf internet safely and not open any weird emails.
1. Its not very common
2. Not rated very good
3. Need to go with something trusted and popular. Avast is used by a lot of veteran members here at the forum.
After installation, you need to register your email address to get it free every year. Go into settings then registration.
I just download it and they want me to pay, Yes I entered my email and it says that I have 536junk files, and they found 8 items that need to be fixed, but to fix them you need to pay for it so is this really free?
Are you sure you installed avast and not something else?
If you did install avast, go back into add/remove programs highlight avast and click on change and then click on modify. Go through the steps and only have the following items checked.
