IP address privacy

Can someone (like a computer hacker or someone who is very good w/ computers) lookup my name and address thru my IP address? I thought there were privacy and laws preventing this?

Also, can someone find the IP address of the sender's email then physically go to that person's computer to see if it matches?

i know i can trace ip to say state a city. this would tell ya the internet carrier. police or fbi possibly could call say comcast and ask who owns this ip. it requires authorization to get name and address.

On the other hand a hack could be a port sniffer and possibly enter the computer. it won't be discussed any further here.
cheers.....

Yeah there are programmes on the internet where you can look up where ip's belong to.

I believe it to be all legal. Its been disucussed before on this forum anyway.
