Apparently, I'm thinking of installing a IP Camera at home to monitor my maid & baby. However, there are lots of IP Camera in the market and I don't know which is best to use at home.

Any recommendation ? :)

axis seem although they are good, seen a couple at the college i went to

Axis cams are quite nice and are not too terribly hard to set up. I have had some major issues with my old wireless one though.

I help a guy set up a couple of Sony network cams on his property and his work, but they were like $1500 each or something. They ran over ethernet and had a whole web based system where you could control and watch the cameras from anywhere on the net.

Pretty cool stuff. I never really played with them beyond helping set them up, but you could actually script actions for them. Like have them pan every so many seconds, and take snap shots, they also had motion detection, where the camera would change angles to focus on moving targets.

They may have been more than $1500 too, but the guy said that is what he paid for them. Could have gotten a deal for all I know.

The guy lived in GA and knew me from a different message board and I remoted into his locations via logmein.com and set the cameras up from half way across the country. Since I wasn't there to physically see them I am not sure what they looked like, though a quick look at Sony's site suggests these were it by price and features
