IP Present - AIM Works - IE Wont Work

I have a dell with Windows XP and I am unable to get on Internet Explorer. I know that I am getting an internet connection because I have gone to ipcongig and it shows my IP address and AOL Instant Messenger works. Also, the other computers in the house do not have trouble with the internet, it is just my computer. We have high speed internet not dial up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

also, i forgot to mention that I have iTunes also and iTunes cannot find the iTunes store either. So I know that it is not just internet explorer that is not working.
