IP provided by ISP

ok, i've set up my psp so that i can stream data from my pc to it. well, it works when i'm at home and connect to my wireless. all i have to do is put in my computer's Ip adress and there we go. but, if i want to connect to my computer outside my signal...like over the internet, i'm told that i need to use the IP that is provided by my ISP. is there a difference?
 
Your PSP needs to have access to the network, you can't get on the net with your PSP if you aren't in range of a wireless network.
 
yes, i know that, i could only using it when i'm in range of a hotspot, i was just wondering if there was a difference between my computer's ip address and the IP provided by my ISP

The IP provided by your ISP is different then the one assigned to your PC by your router. The one assigned by your router is usually 192.168.x.x
 
It's not that easy. You probably have a firewall of some sort running that is not going to let you connect to your home network from the web.

If you have more than 1 PC at home, then you will have some sort of router and will be using private IP adresses on your home network. If so, you will need to set up a remote access service to connect to a particular PC. It can be done, but will take some work.
