Which is better and give a reason.

Just found out about Amazon releasing a new Kindle Fire HD...
-16 GB
-$200
-Same HD display..

Which to get? The new Amazon one seems like a good deal.

Nexus. No Amazon crap. Way More flexible than the iPad.

Although the Kindle Fire HD 9" with it's 1920x1200 screen is pretty drool worthy, as long as you can root it to have stock Android.

The Kindle Fire is very restrictive - you only get the Amazon App Store. An iPad is okay, but I personally like Android over iOS so I'd get a Nexus 7.

I'm definitely a major fan of the iPad, however I hate being limited and jailbreaking causes performance issues, and I don't like the crap the Kindle has on it, so I'd go for the Nexus 7. I actually want to get one soon.

Nexus, Asus made which means quality, and for the price I know apple cannot compete.

What is the kindle fire running as far as cpu and other hardware for there price?

At least the RMA is handled by Google, not that awful Asus RMA service on the nexus, or I would have said no.The Kindle fire HD is nice, but the android they put on is pretty crappy.I dont like apple anymore.Nowadays, the iPad is overpriced, and the app store is hard to app browse for free apps, and apple is way to restrictive, and suing samsung over a slab is absolutly crazy. I say Nexus.

Wow, everyone voted for Nexus.. I'm going to get a 16GB one sometime this week or month. Anyone know which store carries it?

I don't think you can find it in stores locally, it is a order online thing. Amazon or google play store.

No surprise everyone has voted the Nexus, for the price you cannot beat the functionality and hardware it comes with. The ipad looks nice and feels solid but it is highly expensive for a tablet plus every since Mr. Jobs passed away I have been reading more about some of the new decisions that Apple is making and it is no longer about innovation or setting a higher standard.

My vote goes to none, I suggest to wait for Windows Surface, the ARM based processor Surface would cost less and compete with all of above, though the IVB one will be costly.

Just heard about the Kindle Fire HD that is coming up, it looks like it can give the Nexus a run for its money.. What do you think?

Most of the people likes to use ipad. So that my vote is going to Kindle or Nexus. It's rare to find kindle user cause their product isn't so good so that my vote would go for Nexus.I am using Nexus smartphone currently. It's totally different form others.Nexus have some tremendous feature which makes it different.

I would not recommend windows 8 to anyone, The UI is just awful and the world agrees being that Windows phone 7 is the same look and is the worst selling mobile OS. Plus lets not get started about the security features of Windows 8, to much of M$ in my personal life.

Ehh, not really a run fir its money, unless you love watching movies, but the Nexus still has a nice looking screen. The Kindle is for a different market, the kinda people who are noobs and hhave to have super basic and dumb UIs. And, doesnt the Nexus use a quad, and the Kindle HD a dual? I wouldnt wait for W8, but, on a tablet the UI will be great.

Thanks, I just decided to pickup a Nexus and all the damn stores are sold out.. Called 5 Staples and none of them have it. Must be a huge hit...

That's good news about the ability to opt out of the ads, glad Amazon came to their senses over that.

I think people that were in the market for a tablet held off waiting for the announcement from Amazon about their new Kindle Fire tablets. Once people saw that the new KFs weren't up to par with the Nexus 7, they went out and bought an N7. I know someone who works at Staples and he said their store had 10 N7s in stock and no one asked about them for 2 weeks. Once Amazon made their announcement there was a run on N7s and they sold all of them.

BTW, if you can find the original Kindle Fire in stock at Staples, they are marked down to $150. The "new & improved" Kindle Fire (not the KF HD) is $159 so I don't know why anyone would buy the old one for the $9 savings.
