Ipad2? Android? Help!

Next year I go on a holiday of a lifetime, to the Galapagos. I know I will take lots of photos and I want to be able to download, view and edit on location. My laptop is too heavy so have been thinking of an iPad but the reviews I've read have really put me off. Would an Android, at half the price or less, suit me? If not, what should I go for? Help would be very much appreciated!

I've used em both, for what I experienced my iPad2 pleased me during a Eurotrip quite nicely, I mean, I got the stuff done that I wanted to, also the battery was lasting long enough for my sister to watch her movies on it.
But on the other hand Android has features that I think is quite much better than iPad's i.e. you can install a Windows on Android machine. And also the price being a quite big influence on my budget - so my recommendation would be that you should use an Android.

Unless your taking photos on a cell phone and then emailing the pictures to yourself, you'll need an Android tablet with a USB slot to upload the pictures off your camera. The iPad does not have one.

I'd suggest either an android tablet, or a netbook with Adobe Lightroom installed.

I took my ipad 1 with me when i went to america/canada and it served me well.
Need to get the camera connection kit so you can plug your camera in via usb cable or sd card and download photos. Then you can get filterstorm and do some editing (not heavy stuff but android is limited also, need a computer to do heavy stuff) and then can upload to flickr etc.

I would save the money for the Android tablet and with the saving's use Adobe Photoshop touch which is in the android market for download that way you can maximize your photo editing capability.
