i was about to place an order for a 16gb version which costs 199 bucks and let my cousin from NY ship it over here or bring it with him when he comes over but alas, AT&T just had to ruin it cause you had to subscribe for their plan. i just wanted the unit itself.

No it doesn't, the iPhone works on both Windows and Mac.

You can do all of that with 3.0 now.

I don't think it is officially out yet, just the leaked version that the developers got.
