Iphone 4 power failure

Hi guys, I posted this on a phone forum but got no sensible replies! Im sticking to this forum for everything now! lol:

I was having problems with the power button on my iphone 4, then got to the point where it wouldn't power on.
After some research i tried the paper wedge trick and still couldn't get it to work.
Next i realised it must of been something else that failed because when i connect the charger it still dosn't power on and nothing appears on the screen.

So what is the problem likely to be? Battery failed?

You will most likely have to go to the apple store to get this figured out. Could be battery has died and the charging port is shot.

As John said it could be related to the charging port being shot, without seeing the device we can't say with any certainty what the issue is. The Apple Store would be your best bet.

Thanks guys but i'd rather figure it out. The phone is jaildbroken, out of warranty and i cant afford to pay apple for repairs. If it died while still showing some juice in the battery then im guessing it has nothing to do with the charging port and may be the battery that failed. Weird though how the power button started failing first.
