iPhone $ problems

My Sister bought a iPhone4 online and got it today. Its basically brand new as it came with otterbox defender case.

its a Verizon phone and i called on it and it was reported lost/stolen. Now that the phone is red flagged on Verizon, is there a way i can jailbreak/unlock it free so she can use it still on other carriers. She dont want to spend anymore money.

She paid $350 for the 16gb model and is pissed if she cant use it. She said if it costs more to get it to work on another carrier she will just sell it.

That would require someone at sprint or some other CDMA carrier (cricket?) registering it with them. That may be hard to do.

I dont think its hard as theres alot of Bad esn verizion iphone 4s onebay that are unlocked ready to be used on other networks.

Just how did they do it.

She should be able to get her money back on it, unless she bought it somewhere where it specified it was a bad ESN phone.

Using a CDMA phone on another carrier is considerably more complicated than your typical unlock, I don't know if there are any reliable guides out there on doing it.

I took it to a metro PCS and told them the story and the guy there unlocked it and activated it and its working just fine now.


No way to get a refund as the ad specified sales final no refunds. I filed claim with paypal and they denied it.
