iPhone Wifi Receiver Replacement

Alright guys, got my scredriver and alcohol in the mail today. Sadly, there was only 70% rubbing alcohol, anyway, I cleaned the gold contact points with the alcohol, how long does it take to dry? Thanks

Just a few minutes, you know it's dry when you can't smell the alcohol anymore. Were you able to see any sort of corrosion around the antenna?

I could see small amounts of corrosion, cleaned it off, but the wifi hasn't improved. But hey,it was worth a try! :) I think I need to start considering getting a new phone, but thanks for your patience :)

That's unfortunate. It's possible something on the board is damaged or there is corrosion elsewhere causing a problem. The next step would be to remove the whole board and check it, the screws, and where it mounts to the frame for corrosion. But like I said if there is corrosion on the cables, removing them from the board might break them, and also this would be considerably more complicated that removing the wifi antenna with a lot that could go wrong, so you're probably as likely to end up worse off than you are fixing the problem.
