Bought a used iphone on ebay. It has been jailbroken and has lots of apps already installed. Will I still have to connect it to itunes when I get it and will all the apps on it be lost? Will I have to do the jaibreak again or will it stay. I bought this for my wife and neither of us know anything about iphones. I appreciate any help. THX

umm ok let me try to answer this

You may need to run boot neuter on it again if you are going to not use AT&T, but try your GSM SIM card first before running it. You can still connect to the ITMS just fine, buy real iPhone apps just fine, download free ones too. Jailbreaking gives you access to Cydia and all the free or pay for non Apple apps.

Mine has been jail broken for about 2 months now and I have not had any issues. I also bought a used iPhone myself. I suggest you back it up b/c jailbreaking it is kind of a pain of a process. It isn't hard, it is just a lot of steps.

I'm on AT@T so I should be able to just put her sim card in(I hope). The phone is already jailbroken, I just wondered if all the apps would still be there since they were put on by previous user. When it gets here I guess I'll find out.

Yes, when you get it just through your SIM card in there and it'll work like new.

I sold my first gen iPhone to someone and it was jailbroken before selling. He has had not problems with it since then. Just make sure and back it up before you upgrade the firmware. I'm assuming it will have 2.2 on it already, but when new firmware comes out you'll have to UN-jailbreak it to upgrade, then jailbreak it again.
