So, I finally upgraded to this century's technology and now I'm having problems. I'm running XP Home Edition and have a basic 20g IPod. Is there a way to put music on the ipod other than iTunes? When I use iTunes, it wont recognize any music I ripped from a cd onto my computer. Can anyone help me out here?

That is the bad thing about an iPod, you have to use iTunes. I don't much care for it, the drag and drop really makes it easy.

OK, so my iPod now stopped working. It wouldn't turn on or get past the apple logo. I let it die hoping it would reset. It did. It booted up and was as though it was new, nothing was on it. Then my computer wouldn't recognize it. So, I went through Apple's reboot instructions and now it boots to the apple logo and I get a folder with a '!' on it. None of apples instructions help, anyone here got an idea?

try talking to people while you're out and about, instead of zoning out with headphones in your ears

it's surprisingly rewarding, and doesn't cost $.99 per song

Actually, I only use it when I'm at work as we don't get any radio stations in our building and over 8 hours switching cd's every 45 minutes or so gets tiresome. Its also nice during my drive to and from work when there's nothing good on the radio. I don't even own headphones for the ipod.

Does anyone actually know anything about iPods?

ok, out of nowhere my old settings and music just showed up on the ipod. itunes wont recognize it to sync up with my new music, but since I have music to listen to at work I'm not going to mess with it now. If anyone has any suggestive help about why it wont sync please let me know

That sounds similar to what happened to mine. I had to update the software on the Ipod to get it to work. Now it does, its funny. But of course I dont have anything on it but I reformatted it so I can sell it anyway.

wrong wrong wrong
there is a lot of programs you can use besides itunes
I used ephpod back in the day with my mini, it runs quicker and isn't as big of a resource hog
you can drag and drop into itunes too

anyways, when did you get it? send it in for the warranty and they send em back super fast, my brothers sent his on a tuesday or so and got it fixed in the mail on thursday, and they pay for all the shipping

Ok, I found out what causes it to not work. Plugging it in to the power or computer seems to freeze it. If I let it stay plugged in long enough to get a charge and let it sit for like 30 minutes unplugged, it starts working. But the battery usually dies after 30 more minutes. Plug it in again and about 5 minutes later nothing!
