Anybody else noticed how most people on this forum have computers capable of running so much yet we stick to a forum based predominantly on text?
Who else thinks this is slightly ironic? :P
 
what else do you expect ?
do you want a forum with pretty stars in each corner and flash all over the page ?
duh dial up is still around :P:rolleyes:
 
its nice for people like me who travell. I have to spend my nights in hotels (or no name B+B's) and its nice to have my Blackberry as a modem. pages take a little longer to load so text is best !
 
could always make a group on a virtual chat like Second Life and get some land to use as a 'office' for CF Forum members.

speaking of that, i have a good amount of land on second life on the main land. if anybody is interested, i could setup a group there and build a Computer Forum office where we could chat about stuff, possibly help others with computer problems, and advertise the site (if its ok with the admins).

I think its good its basic but a chat room would be an awfully nice addition.
Maybe at 1 mil posts (200000 away) we'll get a new color scheme or banner or something special.
 
no whats ironic is people still dont know how to turn on a computer let alone make sure it is plugged it :D
 
Well that's what an on-line forum is, a site with predominating text. But I get what you're saying, the problem is as some people already pointed out, there's still many people with dial-up connections.

Lets have a moment of silence for our dial up users.
Its really ashame that people are suffering dial up still.

I guess in some cases its the best/only choice though.
 
i wonder if there's any way to mod your modem to get 20kb/s download speeds or something...or do internet companies actually care about dialup download speeds?
