Don't give anybody your IM name and you won't get spam. It works the same with e-mail. If you don't give many people your e-mail, then you don't get spam in your inbox.

But if the computer of a buddy of yours will get a malware that steals his address book then you would get spam...

That is true. I am sure that you wouldn't want to block that person to quit getting spam either.

I think spam is inevitable (unfortunately)...
I have an e-mail account (dating back to 1994) in which I receive more than 80 spams daily...

I think the people who have a lot of online memberships should have two different mailboxes. One for the online membership's and another for personal use.

I read it somewhere that if you create an account with an address like this one: "spam @ <your domain>" you'll never receive spam. I wonder if it really works...

I haven't ever heard of that trick. I wish congress would have passed the No Spam List law that was like the No Call List.

I should try that. Maybe because the bots associate those types of email addresses as those "nospam" email addresses people give (like [email protected]).

I meant they should have mailboxes categorized. Some accounts should be dedicated to themselves and other mailboxes can be dedicated toward websites or spam, or whatever you want to use it for.
