ok when i just run vista i use about 50 % of ram, if i run a game i use 100%, if i run a few programs i can easily get it to 85 % of ram usage, it seems to me to take the full value of the quad u need to have 4 gigs if not 3gb . does this seem true to any one?

i also have vista and 2 gigs of ram i have never reached 100% even when play CSS listening to music have msn and ventrilo open.

2 gigs is recommended for vista. We all know its a resource hog, so that maybe an issue. Also turn off some back ground programs u dont need.

people who have vista, with all backround programs and reguler programs c;psed so that only vista is running, how much ram is being used, i set my motherboard to default so im running at 2.4ghz and my gpu is oced with riva tuner but it is currently closed and the only thing running right now is bitorrent and it is using 757mb 37% which i sthe lowest ive seen for a while, usually its 50-55% just running vista

The more memory you have, the more memory your programs will use. Generally 2 GB is enough for Vista. However, if you have the money, go with 4GB. It's not that much more and you won't have to worry about running out of memory. I currently use 4GB and use about 35% of the memory when running WMP, firefox, aim, xfire and photoshop.
