Is 64-bit worth it for me?

Hello, im new here and hope to really enjoy this forum! :D

Anyway,

Right now my specs are:

Core 2 Duo E6550

Nvida 8800GT

4 gigs of ddr2 ram @ ddr2 800

And a 250 gig hardrive

I know my graphics card and hard drive dont matter in this situation but whatever.

Right now I am running 32-bit vista home premium. Is getting the 64-bit edition worth it for me? I play ALOT of games and sometimes download small prgrams to mess around with.
 
Probably not. Unless you have memory problems now (memory problems as in running out of RAM and using the pagefile), the extra RAM 64-bit lets you access won't do much. You need to look at your memory usage; see how it goes when you're gaming and whatnot. If you hardly ever break the 2-2.5GB barrier, then you don't need the extra RAM. If your memory usage constantly tops 3GB, you definitely could use a 64-bit OS.
 
well you said you already have 32bit so unless you plan on installing more ram than there realy isnt no need to go 64 bit just yet.

i however did notice a diffrence in performance going from 32 to 64 bit ;)
