is 75hz safe?

So I just setup dual monitors on my system and I switched my default (from 19" 1440x900 ViewSonic to 20" 1600x900 Acer). One of my games kept graphic spiking (like how a song skips when a CD is scratched) so I adjusted my refresh rate from 60 to 75 and then read that some monitors shouldn't run at 75 if they don't support it. Anyways... While looking up my monitor specs to see if it was supported I became confused. I found 2 specs lists, one for an Acer P205H Widescreen and one for an Acer P205H bmd.

The sticker on the back says:

Looking to confirm what it's safe to have my refresh rate at?

If you can select it from the driver, then use it. 75hz is better than 60hz

Well I read somewhere that if you set it to a higher refresh rate and it doesn't support it that it can burn the monitor out or damage it. Which is why I was concerned.

If it's available to select from the control panel (by installing the driver, and not by hacking it), it's safe.

Looking at the specs the first monitor supports 75Hz while the second one only supports 60Hz.
