doing a build and well quick run down and question is will 850 be enough or should i go with 1050 to be safe?

i7-3770k
Z77 Sabertooth MB
CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) 1866
Asus GTX 670 DC2OG 2GB x2 for sli
WD black 1TB 7200 x 4
Kingston 3k 240GBx 2
Corsair H100i for cooling
Noctua NF-P12 x 2
NZXT Sleeved LED Case Light Kit 2 meters

and i will be OCing both CPU and GPUs

PSU im looking at are as follow
CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W
XFX PRO850W XXX Edition

1000w considering if 850 is to small
XFX ProSeries P1-1000-BELX
CORSAIR HX Series HX1050 1050W
OCZ Fatal1ty 1000W

sweet thanks again!! i think ill go with the hx it wires coming off the case look nicer and ill be adding nzxt extensions to make my system look really clean and nice and the xfx wires coming off the psu you can see the actual wires not attractive :)

850w is definitely more than enough, but it also depends on whether or not your're going to add to your rig in the future and the power you may need. If you could afford the 1050 with no problem, then it may be a good option. Other than that the 850 is definitely a good choice. And yes, the hx is a bit more eye-appealing than the xfx

i really like this psu. one of the best brands, fully modular, and is 80+ platinum cert. did 3 builds with these in it running i7 3770k @ 4.6Ghz, and a 2 x 670's in sli. 2 ssd's and 1 hd, and 2 x 8gig platinums from corsair. the fan on the psu comes on when it gets to a certain point, but i have yet to see it turn on even when im running 3d mark and other benchmarks., this thing runs super cool. cant beat it in my opinion.

if not then this is a good one as well:

That system will barely use 600W overclocked.

Grab a 750W unit for headroom, ideally a gold or platinum rated unit.

i also feel that a 750 watt psu of good quality will handle it no problem. ive also used this one, and it is well worth the money. runs just like its meant to stay cool. had it in a pc with i7 3930k and a gtx 680, with a bunch of other nice stuff, and although i didnt overclock the 680, i did overclock the cpu significantly, and it ran very chilly. the fan didnt turn on for this one either, unless i switched it to on, but i just left it on hybrid mode. great psu. you should consider it....great price too.

I've found this to be a pretty acurate guide as to how much wattage your system will need.
not in the least. That estimator says my system needs 897 watts minimum, and suggest 950 watts. Seems inaccurate seeing as the entire system is not even pulling 700 watts from the wall, and is running full load on a 750 watt system.

hmm... That looks like a great supply. The x series is full modular yes? how would you rate the quality of the connectors on it? I have an issue with mt ZT750 with the Molex connectors coming apart if you don't hold the wires in place when attaching them. Does it have this issue also? (if you don't notice, I'm in the market for a better supply).

the wires on the seasonics are avery good. they improved them when they came out with the x series. pretty flexible, length is good on the cables, and quality is right up there that I would expect form a quality psu. if I were to rate the cables from 1-10, 10 being great, id say they are a 8. fully modular yes, and something to deffinatly consider if your needing a 750 watt psu.

The X models seasonic is about one of the best power supplies made. The only other one that could be considered better would be the seasonic Platinum series.

i would have to agree with the above statement. i have worked with more than many psu's, and i must say, ever since i used seasonics x series, i havnt wanted to get any other psu when it comes to performance machines. cant beat the performance to price ratio either. get a seasonic gold or platinum, and forget about the worries. make sme wish i had one instead of the corsair gs700 i have.
